FAQ

PRP hair questions

Still deciding? Book a consultation to see if PRP hair restoration fits your goals.

Is PRP hair restoration safe?

PRP is made from your own blood, so there is a very low risk of allergic reaction. It is prepared and injected by a qualified medical provider, and your health history is reviewed before treatment.

How does PRP for hair restoration work?

Your blood is spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets and their growth factors. Injected into the scalp, PRP helps improve blood supply to the follicles, supports the hair growth cycle and encourages weakened follicles to grow stronger hair.

How long does the procedure take?

About 45 to 60 minutes, from the blood draw to the end of treatment.

Is PRP hair restoration painful?

Most clients feel only mild discomfort. Numbing or cooling can be used to keep you comfortable during the injections.

How many sessions will I need?

A typical plan is 3 to 4 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every 6 to 12 months.

When will I start seeing results?

Many clients notice less shedding within a few weeks, with visible improvement in thickness and fullness after 3 to 6 months as follicles complete their growth cycles.

Is there any downtime?

Very little. The scalp may feel tender or look slightly red for a day. Most clients return to their day right away.

Does PRP work for men and women?

Yes. PRP can help both women and men with thinning hair, especially when follicles are still present.

Who should not get PRP?

PRP may not be appropriate with certain blood or platelet disorders, active scalp infections, some cancers, during pregnancy, or while taking certain blood thinners. Your provider will review your medical history first.
