Is lip filler safe?

When performed by an experienced medical provider, hyaluronic acid lip filler has a strong safety record. Dr. Parvina reviews your health history first and uses a careful, conservative technique.

How much filler do I need?

A half syringe (0.5 mL) gives a subtle refresh, while a full syringe (1 mL) creates more noticeable volume and shape. We'll recommend the right amount at your consultation.

A half syringe (0.5 mL) suits light hydration, subtle definition and touch-ups. A full syringe (1 mL) gives more noticeable volume and shape. Dr. Parvina will recommend what fits your lips and goals.

How long does lip filler last?

Results typically last 6 to 12 months, depending on the filler used and your metabolism. Many clients book a small touch-up to keep their look fresh.

How swollen will I be?

Mild swelling and occasional bruising are normal for 2 to 3 days. Most clients go back to their routine the same day, and your final result shows in about two weeks.

When will my lips settle?

Right away. Your lips may look extra plump for the first day or two from swelling, then the filler settles within 24 to 48 hours and your final shape shows in about two weeks.

Can filler migrate?

Filler migration can happen, but the risk depends on factors such as product choice, placement, anatomy, and the amount used. Dr. Parvina takes a conservative, precise approach and builds gradually when needed to help reduce that risk.

Can lip filler be dissolved?

Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be safely dissolved with hyaluronidase if you ever want to correct or remove previous filler. Learn more about filler dissolving.

Will my lips look fake?

No. Dr. Parvina's approach is balance, not size. She maps your lips to your facial proportions and starts conservatively, so the result looks like you, only fuller and more defined.

Lip filler may not be appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active cold sore or infection on the lips, or with certain allergies or medical conditions. Your provider reviews your history before treatment.

How should I prepare for lip filler?

Lips bruise easily, so for a few days before your appointment avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and alcohol, unless your doctor prescribed them. If you get cold sores, let us know ahead of time. Plan lip filler at least two weeks before a big event so swelling has time to settle.
