Less sweat
more confidence
When strong antiperspirants aren’t enough, Botox® can temporarily reduce excessive underarm sweating and help you feel more comfortable and confident day to day. It is FDA-approved for severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis.
Botox® for sweating in brief
Quiet the signal
stay drier
Botox® is injected into the skin of the underarm, where it temporarily reduces the nerve signals that switch on your sweat glands. The rest of your body keeps sweating normally to keep you cool.
Nerve signal
Nerves normally tell the sweat glands when to produce sweat.
Signal reduced
Botox® temporarily quiets that signal in the treated area.
Less sweat
The underarm stays noticeably drier for months, until the effect wears off.

Sweating treatment questions
Still deciding? Book a consultation and we’ll help you decide if it’s right for you.
Is Botox for sweating safe?
Botox® is FDA-approved for severe underarm sweating and has been used for this purpose for many years. Your health history is reviewed before treatment to make sure it’s right for you.
How does Botox reduce sweating?
Botox® temporarily reduces the nerve signals that activate the sweat glands in the treated skin. The glands aren’t removed or damaged, and they return to normal as the effect wears off.
Can you treat my hands?
Botox® is FDA-approved for the underarms. It is sometimes used for hand sweating, but that use is off-label, so it’s offered only after a consultation with Dr. Parvina.
Does it hurt?
Most clients feel quick pinches from a very fine needle. Underarm treatment is usually well tolerated, and ice can be used for comfort.
When will I see results?
Many clients notice less sweating within about 7 to 10 days, with the full effect easier to assess at around 1 to 2 weeks.
How long do results last?
Results typically last several months and vary from person to person. Retreatment can be considered when sweating starts to return.
Is there downtime?
Little to none. You can return to your normal routine right away. Avoid intense exercise, saunas and hot tubs for the first 24 hours.
Will my body still sweat elsewhere?
Yes. Only the treated area stays drier. The rest of your body continues to sweat normally to keep you cool.
What are the side effects?
Side effects are usually mild and short-lived, such as small bumps, redness or bruising at the injection sites. Your provider will review possible side effects with you before treatment.
Who should not get Botox for sweating?
Botox® may not be appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with certain neuromuscular conditions, an infection at the treatment area, or an allergy to its ingredients. Because sweating can sometimes have another medical cause, your history is reviewed first.
