FAQ

PRP questions

Still deciding? Book a consultation to see if PRP fits your skin and treatment plan.

Is PRP safe?

PRP is made from your own blood, so there is a very low risk of allergic reaction. It is prepared and applied by a qualified medical provider, and your health history is reviewed before treatment.

What is PRP?

Platelet-rich plasma is the golden layer separated from your blood in a centrifuge. It is concentrated with platelets and natural growth factors that support the skin’s healing and renewal.

Is PRP the same as a “vampire facial”?

That term usually describes PRP combined with microneedling. At Pari Med Spa, PRP can be used on its own or paired with treatments such as Morpheus8, based on your plan.

Is PRP injected or applied?

It can be injected into targeted areas or applied topically like a serum right after your treatment, when the skin is primed to absorb it.

Does PRP add volume?

No. PRP supports the skin’s natural renewal and recovery rather than adding volume. For volume, filler is the right option.

How many treatments will I need?

As a standalone treatment, a series of 3 sessions spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart is usually recommended. When combined with another treatment, PRP is typically included with each Morpheus8 or CO₂ session in your series.

Is there downtime?

On its own, PRP has little downtime beyond mild redness or swelling for a short time. When combined with another treatment, it does not add meaningful downtime to your Morpheus8 or CO₂ recovery.

When will I see results?

Skin may look refreshed after recovery, with texture and skin quality improving gradually over the following weeks and months.

Can PRP be combined with Morpheus8 or CO₂?

Yes. PRP is often added to Morpheus8 or CO₂ resurfacing, including CoolPeel®, to support recovery and complement the treatment.

How is PRP different from SKINVIVE or mesotherapy?

PRP uses your own platelet-rich plasma to support renewal and recovery. SKINVIVE™ uses hyaluronic acid microdroplets for hydration and smoothness, and mesotherapy delivers customized skin-supporting ingredients.

Who is not a good candidate?

PRP may not be appropriate with certain blood or platelet disorders, active infections, some cancers, during pregnancy, or while taking certain blood thinners. Your provider will review your medical history first.

Where can I get PRP near me?

Pari Med Spa offers PRP at both of our locations:

Staten Island
187 Arbutus Ave
Staten Island, NY

Brooklyn
2148 Ocean Ave, 4th Floor

PRP combined with Morpheus8 or CO₂ resurfacing is available in Staten Island, where those treatments are offered. Each treatment is performed under the care of Dr. Parvina Ibragimova, DNP, FNP-BC, with more than 10 years of experience in aesthetic medicine. Book a consultation to plan your treatment.
