The Russian lip technique is a way of placing hyaluronic acid filler, not a different product. Small vertical micro-injections start at the line where the moist inner lip meets the outer lip and lift the lip upward, instead of pushing it outward like traditional horizontal placement.

Numbing

A numbing cream is applied first, and the filler itself contains lidocaine for added comfort.

Treatment

Filler is placed with precise vertical micro-injections to lift and shape the lip. The appointment usually takes about 45 to 60 minutes.

Aftercare

Swelling usually lasts about 3 to 7 days. Your lips settle over 2 to 3 weeks, when a touch-up can be added if needed.

What are Russian lips?

Russian lips is an injection technique that places filler vertically to lift the lips and create height, a defined cupid’s bow and a heart shape, instead of adding forward volume.

How are Russian lips different from regular lip filler?

Both use hyaluronic acid filler. The difference is placement. Classic lip filler often adds volume and hydration, while the Russian technique builds height for a lifted, flatter-profile look.

How much filler will I need?

Russian lips use a full syringe (1 mL). A half syringe usually gives too little lift for the technique.

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is applied first, and the filler contains lidocaine, a numbing ingredient, for ongoing comfort. Most clients describe the treatment as very tolerable.

How long do Russian lips last?

Russian lip results commonly last about 6 to 9 months. That is a little shorter than traditional lip filler because the filler sits closer to the surface. Your filler, metabolism and lifestyle also play a part.

What is the downtime?

Expect swelling for about 3 to 7 days, a little longer than traditional lip filler, and possible bruising. Most clients return to normal activities right away, and lips settle over 2 to 3 weeks.

Will Russian lips look fake?

Not when the filler is placed conservatively by an injector who knows your face. The technique depends on precise, even placement, which is why Dr. Parvina plans every Russian lip treatment around your natural lip shape.

Can I get Russian lips if I already have lip filler?

Often, yes. If previous filler has migrated or built up, Dr. Parvina may recommend dissolving it first for the best shape.

Can Russian lips be dissolved?
